Jason Danskin (born December 28, 1967 in Winsford ) is a former English football player . At 17 years and 151 days, the midfielder was one of the youngest debutants in the history of Everton FC , but was subsequently unable to establish himself in the professional business. His only significant title win in 1987 was the Football League Trophy with Mansfield Town .

Athletic career

Jason Danskin's professional football career was short and began in mid-1985. Before the midfielder signed his first professional contract with Everton in July 1985 , he was used on May 28, 1985 on the last league match against Luton Town . Since the "Toffees" were already established as English champions at this point , the encounter was no longer of any sporting value. In midfield, he played alongside Derek Walsh and Neill Rimmer , who had never been in a championship game, and it was almost logical that the game was lost 2-0 to Luton. As the youngest player in this trio, Danskin was the eighth youngest league debutant in the history of Everton FC. Like Walsh and Rimmer, however, Danskin did not prevail in the following period at the first division side and without having played a second time in the professional team, he hired in March 1987 at the third division side Mansfield Town .

In Mansfield, he not only played the last ten league games of the ending 1986/87 season, but he was also in the starting eleven in the final of the Football League Trophy against Bristol City . Here, however, he was substituted after 90 minutes when the score was 1: 1 and thus he was no longer involved in the ultimately successful penalty shoot-out. In the season 1987/88 Danskin found no more consideration in the "Hirschen" and in January 1988 he was briefly loaned to the fourth division Hartlepool United . There he played three games that ended in a win, a draw and a defeat, and in the course of which John Tinkler was always substituted on for him.

His next stop was in the 1988/89 season Northwich Victoria in the Football Conference . There he played 23 of 40 league games, was 19 times in the starting lineup, scored three goals and took tenth place with the team in the final table. It should be the last appearances in a reasonably professional environment and later Danskin only kicked the ball at home for Winsford United .
