Burlakat ( Karelian for vagabonds ) was a Finnish - Karelian folk / folk rock band founded in 1993 . The band sang in the Karelian language and interpreted Karelian folk music in a modern and individual way. She first became known to a larger audience when she performed at the annual Kihaus Folk Music Festival in Rääkkylä / Finland in the summer of 1994.
