The Bockerter Heide is a 168.36 hectare nature reserve in the south of the Lower Rhine district town of Viersen , which is located in the west of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia . The nature reserve Bockerter Heide is located on the extreme southern edge of the Viersen urban area on the periphery of the Alt-Viersen districts of Bockert , Bötzlöh , Oberbeberich and Ompert and extends to the city and district boundary with Mönchengladbach .
