The Vennbruch nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the town of Viersen in the Viersen district in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 16.48 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1990 , extends north of the core town of Viersen. On the northern edge of the area runs the state road L 475 and on the southern edge the district road K 17. The L 391 runs to the west and flows the Niers .

The protection is provided for the preservation of communities or habitats of certain wild plant and animal species, for scientific reasons and because of the rarity, special character or outstanding beauty of the area.
