The Heidemoore nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the municipality of Brüggen and the city of Nettetal in the district of Viersen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 321.06 hectare area, which was placed under nature protection in 1981 , extends northwest of the core town of Brüggen. The state border with the Netherlands runs to the west, federal road 221 runs to the east .

The nature reserve is part of the EU bird sanctuary " Schwalm-Nette-Platte with Grenzwald and Meinweg ".
