The Diergardt'scher Wald nature reserve is located in the municipality of Brüggen in the district of Viersen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The approximately 83.66 hectare (ha) area, which was placed under nature protection in 1988 , extends west of the core town of Brüggen not far from the north and west running state border with the Netherlands . The state road  373 runs to the south. The 1328 ha large NSG Brachter Wald lies to the east and the 296 ha large NSG Elmpter Schwalmbruch south.

The nature reserve is part of the EU bird sanctuary " Schwalm-Nette-Platte with Grenzwald and Meinweg ".
