Jason Hoffman (born January 28, 1989 in Newcastle , Australia ) is an Australian football player .

Career

Hoffman played in the 2006/07 season for Hamilton Olympic in the Northern New South Wales State Football League , a regional division of the state of New South Wales . For the 2007/08 season he moved to the A-League club Newcastle United Jets and came in his first season mostly as a substitute to a total of 15 missions, including the 1-0 victory in the championship final against the Central Coast Mariners . He spent the summer break at the Australian Institute of Sport .

On September 27, 2008 against Adelaide United, the 6th day of the 2008/09 season, Hoffman suffered a cruciate ligament rupture in his right knee and was out for the rest of the season. He made his comeback in April 2009 in the AFC Champions League . A month later, he scored the 1-0 winner in the away game against Korean club Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i and thus ensured Newcastle's entry into the Champions League round of 16.
