Jason Thompson (Author)
Jason Thompson (born 1974 in San Francisco , California ) is an American editor , journalist and cartoonist .
Life
As a journalist and author, he is primarily concerned with mangas , writing for the magazines Animerica , Otaku USA and The Comics Journal , among others . For the book Manga - The Complete Guide , which was created together with other authors until 2007 , he was nominated for the Eisner Award in 2008. On Anime News Network , he presents the House of 1000 Manga column , in which he introduces lesser-known series. As an editor he worked for the publishing house Viz Media and was responsible for the American edition of Shōnen Jump , which appeared from 2002 to 2012.
As a comic book author, he initially created a few series in the 1990s that were self-published. A webcomic followed in 2001 with The Stiff . In 2010 and 2011 he published the two-volume comic Kings of RPGs through Del Rey . Also in 2011 he brought out a crowdfunded comic book.
