Jaurim ( kor.  자우림 , Hanja  紫 雨林 , "purple rainforest") is an alternative rock band from South Korea .

history

The band, founded in 1997, was initially known as "Ugly Duckling". During the year she renamed herself. She was part of the club scene at the Yonsei University in Seoul district of Sinchon . The voice of singer Kim Yoon-ah became the band's trademark. For the soundtrack of the successful television series kkot-eul deun namja ( 꽃 을 든 남자 ) they recorded the song Hey, Hey, Hey , which made them famous. Her debut album Purple Heart was already a success.

In addition to their nine Korean-language studio albums to date, they also recorded a Japanese-language CD ( # 1 ) in 2003. Her ninth studio album was released on October 14, 2013. The songs are about youth.

Band singer Kim Yoon-ah has released three solo albums, the last of which was released in 2010. She is married to a dentist and has one child.
