Jazz & The City
Jazz & The City (formerly: Jazz in the Old Town) is a music festival in Salzburg that has been taking place every year since 2000 at the end of October / beginning of November in Salzburg's old town with free entry.
While 18 concerts were held over 5 days in the first year, in 2007, the 8th edition, there were more than 70 concerts in 50 different venues, in clubs and pubs as well as in the squares of Salzburg's old town.
In addition to the Salzburg who's who of the jazz scene, internationally successful acts also appeared for the first time in 2007. In addition to the virtuosos Howard Levy and Michael Riessler , the Austrian gipsy jazz guitarist Harri Stojka , fusion saxophonist Bill Evans and Fred Wesley performed with his funk band. 7 jazz projects from Bern were presented in one focus . Musicians from Austria , Germany , Hungary , Switzerland and the USA presented their music to the many listeners.
