Jean-Baptiste Senaillé

Jean-Baptiste Senaillé (born November 23, 1687 - † October 15, 1730 ) was a French composer and violinist of the Baroque.

Life

Jean-Baptiste was the son of one of the " Vingt-quatre Violons du Roy ". He studied with Jean-Baptiste Anet and Giovanni Antonio Piani , among others . During a stay in Italy he perfected his game with Tomaso Antonio Vitali . In 1720 he was accepted into the ranks of the elite ensemble of the "Vingt-quatre Violons" founded by Lully . He was one of the French musicians who combined the Italian with the French style in their compositions. His fifty violin sonatas are characterized by melody, violinistic virtuosity, French dance rhythms and an Italian style figured bass accompaniment.
