Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie
Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie (born March 1, 1626 in Chabanais , † November 11, 1688 in Versailles ) was a French lawyer and horticultural master.
In the 17th century he created the Potager du roi in Versailles on behalf of the Sun King Louis XIV . La Quintinie is the author of the textbook “ Instruction pour les jardins fruitiers et potagers ”. A street in Paris and the plant genus Quintinia are named after him.
