Live and act

Jean-Charles Perrinet was the son of Jean Perrinet d'Orval (1670-1729) and his second wife Madeleine Annes († 1758). The half-siblings Jean Robert (1696-1696), Marianne (* 1697), Jean (* 1699) and Benjamin (* 1700) came from the father's first marriage to Suzanne Chamaillard (1658–1705). After the birth of Jean-Charles, the children Pierre (1710–1773), Anne, Madeleine-Marguerite and Etienne were added to the second marriage.

Alongside Amédée-François Frézier (1682–1773), Perrinet d'Orval was the most important fireworker of his time. He also studied the military uses of explosives and gunpowder . His works were designed as practical manuals and instructions and demonstrate the high level of craftsmanship in fireworks in the early modern era.

From 1758 to 1762 he was a city councilor ( Capitoul ) in the administration of the city of Toulouse .

He edited the articles Feux d'artifice , Girandoles and Grenouillère for the Encyclopédie by Denis Diderot and Jean-Baptiste le Rond d'Alembert .
