Jean-Claude Van Geenberghe

Jean-Claude Van Geenberghe , also: Jean-Claude Vangeenberghe (born November 17, 1962 in Kortrijk , Belgium ; † May 9, 2009 in Donetsk , Ukraine ), was a Belgian show jumper with Ukrainian citizenship.

The Belgian Van Geenberghe won the greats of Aachen in 1993 and 1995 . He was Belgian champion in 1993, 1994 and 2003.

Jean-Claude Van Geenberghe was a three-time participant in the Summer Olympics and World Championships and six times in European Championships. Since 2005 he started as a Ukrainian citizen, including at the 2008 Summer Olympics , where he finished ninth in the individual classification with his horse Quintus .

Van Geenberghe died in May 2009 at the age of 46 for reasons that have not yet been clarified.
