Jean-Daniel Nicoud

Jean-Daniel Nicoud (born August 31, 1938 ) is a Swiss physicist and computer specialist .

Life

Nicoud studied physics at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and received his doctorate in 1970 with the work Algorithmes et systèmes logiques spécialisés pour la conversion de code . In 1973 he was appointed professor at EPFL and retired in August 2000 .

Nicoud's research laboratory LAMI ( Laboratoire de Micro-Informatique ) developed the Smaky computer system , with a focus on research and publications on the subject of microprocessors .
