Jean-Louis Agobet

Jean-Louis Agobet (born April 21, 1968 in Blois , Center-Val de Loire , France) is a French composer . The focus of his music is on acoustic ensembles, some of which are supplemented by live electronics .

Life

Agobet studied at the Conservatoire National de Nice , the ENM Aix-en-Provence and at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Lyon . In addition, he attended courses with Luigi Nono at the Center Acanthes . He has been writing works for internationally known orchestras, conductors and soloists since the 1990s.

From 1996 to 2001 he worked regularly at IRCAM in Paris. As an ex-scholarship holder at the Villa Medici in Rome (1993–1996) he was composer in residence with the Orchester national of Montpellier from 1998 to 2000 and with the Strasbourg Philharmonic from 2001 to 2005 , where he was also responsible for the music education department. In 2006 he won the award for the best recording at the Victoires de la musique classique , and in September 2006 he was awarded the Prix ​​Claude Arrieu by SACEM .

Agobet taught composition at the Conservatoire in Caen , Normandy from 2008 to 2011 and was composer in residence there at the Festival Aspects des Musiques d'Aujourd'hui in 2010. Since 2011 he has been Professor of Composition at the Conservatoire Bordeaux. His works are published by Jobert in Paris and by peermusic classical in Hamburg.
