Jean-Louis Py
Jean-Louis Py (born December 29, 1948 in Saint-Mandé ) is a Général de corps d'armée of the French army .
In 1968 he went to the Saint-Cyr Military School . Three years later he became an officer in the infantry. At the University of Grenoble , he made a master's degree in physics and chemistry, where he took a course on weapons in 1990. In the infantry he served in Germany from 1971 to 77. He was also with army units in Wittlich and Saarburg . In 1995/96 he worked at the IFOR headquarters in Bosnia. In 1998 he worked as Brigadier General in Florence at EUROFOR. In 2003 he became lieutenant general and sixth commanding general of the Eurocorps . In 2004/5 he was the commander of ISAF in Afghanistan .
He is married and has four children.
