Jean-Marc de La Sablière

Jean-Marc de La Sablière (born November 8, 1946 in Athens ) was a French diplomat .

Life

Jean-Marc de La Sablière is the son of Bertrand Edmond Rochereau de La Sablière . He studied law at the Institut d'études politiques de Paris in Paris. He was then accepted into the École nationale d'administration (Promotion François Rabelais). He joined the foreign service on June 1, 1973. At the Quai d'Orsay he was head of the Sub-Saharan Africa department .

From 2000 to 2002 he advised Jacques Chirac . From 2002 to 2007 he represented the French government at the UN headquarters and at the permanent seat on the UN Security Council. He was ambassador to Rome from 2007 and resides as such at Palazzo Farnese before retiring in 2011. He is an officer of the Legion of Honor and Knight of the Ordre national de mérite .
