Jean-Paul Agon (born July 6, 1956 in Boulogne-Billancourt ) is a French manager .

Life

Jean-Paul Agon is the son of a pharmacist and an architect. He studied business administration at the École des hautes études commerciales de Paris (HEC). After graduating, he started working as a sales representative at L'Oréal in 1978. From 1981 he took on management positions in the group, first at L'Oréal Greece, then L'Oréal Parfum France (1985), L'Oréals Germany (1995), Asia (1997) and the USA (2001). In 2005 he came to the Paris headquarters to prepare for the CEO post. Since April 25, 2006, he has been the successor to Lindsay Owen-Jones at the French company L'Oréal. His strategy is essentially based on the acquisition of other companies. Agon is married and has three children.
