Johannes Scheiber
Johannes Scheiber (born December 24, 1879 in Nordhausen ; † December 26, 1961 in Oberstdorf ) was a German chemist and professor at the University of Leipzig .
Scheiber has been studying at the universities of Berlin, Leipzig and Göttingen since 1898 and graduated from the University of Leipzig with a doctorate in chemistry in 1902. In 1907 there followed the habilitation in chemistry on N - alkyloximes . From 1907 to 1915 he taught as a private lecturer in Leipzig, from 1915 to 1938 as a non-scheduled associate professor, and from 1938 to 1945 as a scheduled associate professor for chemical technology . From 1902 to 1919 he worked as an assistant in the laboratory for applied chemistry and pharmacy and took part in the First World War from 1915 to 1918. His research was in the field of drying and film formation of fatty oils. He was co-editor of the trade journal “ Farbe und Lack” and worked for several years in the paint and synthetic resin industry. In November 1933 he signed the German professors' confession of Adolf Hitler .
