Jean-Paul Dupré (born February 5, 1944 in Davejean , Département Aude ) is a French politician . He has been a member of the National Assembly since 1997 .

Dupré began working as a banker in Limoux . After the events of May 1968 , he joined the Parti socialiste . In 1977 he became a member of the Limoux City Council and in 1983 he became the city's deputy mayor. Six years later he was elected first mayor. In 1994 he also moved to the General Council of the Aude department. In the 1997 parliamentary elections , he ran successfully for the National Assembly in the third constituency of the département. He was re-elected in 2002, 2007 and 2012.
