Jean-Pierre Abelin
Jean-Pierre Abelin (born September 3, 1950 in Poitiers , Vienne ) is a French politician.
Since 1978 and in the 12th electoral term (since 2002) he has been a member of the National Assembly as a member of the Vienne Parliament . He is a member of the UMP group . From 1984 to 1989 he was a member for the European People's Party in the European Parliament .
On June 17, 2007 he was re-elected to the National Assembly.
On March 16, 2008 he became mayor of Châtellerault .
