Jean-Xavier de Lestrade

Jean-Xavier de Lestrade (born July 1, 1963 in Mirande , Département Gers ) is a French screenwriter , film producer and film director who was awarded an Oscar in 2002.

Career

Lestrade's career in the film business began in 1998 when he wrote the screenplay for the documentary Une Australie blanche et pure . As executive producer he was responsible for the first time in 2001 when he worked on the documentary La justice des hommes . Lestrade made his directorial debut with the television film La cavale des innocents in 1995. He and Denis Poncet received an Oscar for best documentary film for their artistic achievements in A Murderer Made to Measure . This was the first time the two French worked together. The second and last was in the television movie Nylons and Cigarettes , which was released in 2010.
