Jean-Yves Cendrey (born September 11, 1957 in Nevers ) is a French author.

Life

Jean-Yves Cendrey is the son of a French professional soldier and therefore grew up in his various places of work in France and Germany. He is married to the author Marie Ndiaye , whom he met in 1984. In 1988 his first novel, Principe du cochon, was published . He and Ndiaye lived in different international locations. In 2001 they were living with their three children in Cormeilles , Normandy , when he heard a rumor about a pedophile teacher at his children's elementary school. He followed up on it and thus triggered a political scandal. In 2007, after Nicolas Sarkozy was elected French President , the family moved to Berlin for political reasons , a city that he had already written off in 1994.
