Jean Baillou

Jean Baillou ( December 21, 1905 , † June 22, 1990 ) was a French Romance studies scholar , historian and diplomat.

life and work

Baillou went through the École normal supérieure (ENS) and studied with Henri Chamard . He passed the Agrégation de lettres and was first a high school teacher. Then he switched to the diplomatic service and became head of the cultural department in the French Foreign Ministry . He was editor of the Bulletin de l'Institut international d'administration publique (1967ff; from 1977 ud T. Revue française d'administration publique ).
