Jean Baptiste Achille Zo (* 1826 in Bayonne , † 1901 in Bordeaux ; short: Achille Zo ) was a French - Basque painter.

Zo was a student of Thomas Couture in Paris , where he lived until 1871. In the same year he became director of the Art School of Bayonne, then in 1899 director of the Art School of Bordeaux.

Zo was friends with Puvis de Chavannes and Manet . His son Henri Achille Zo (1873–1933) also became a painter and engraver.

His works are now in the possession of the Musée d'Orsay in Paris , the art museums of Pau and Marseille and the Musée Bonnat-Helleu in his hometown.
