Jean Carduner

Jean René Carduner (born November 18, 1926 in Carhaix-Plouguer ; † August 18, 1990 ) was a French-American Romance studies and foreign language didactic.

Life

Carduner studied at the Sorbonne. He went to the United States and taught from 1954 at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor . In 1959 he received his doctorate from the University of Minnesota with the thesis La création romanesque chez Malraux (Paris 1968, 1971, 1995). In Ann Arbor he was Chair of the Department of Romance Languages ​​and Literatures from 1984 to 1987.

Carduner was President of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF) from 1983 to 1985.
