Jean Colombera

Jean Colombera (born February 2, 1954 in Esch an der Alzette ) is a Luxembourg doctor and politician.

Life

Colombera studied medicine at the University of Nancy and later homeopathy at the Ecole mosane d'homéopathie in Huy and naturopathy in Bobigny . He is co-founder of the Association luxembourgeoise pour les méthodes préventives and the Luxembourg section of the Union francophone pour les cannabinoïdes en médecine , which advocates the medicinal use of cannabis . In 2012, an investigation began against him for allegedly prescribing drugs based on cannabis.

Colombera was an Italian citizen until 1999, when he became a Luxembourg citizen.

From July 13, 1999 to June 5, 2004 Colombera was ADR MP for the north in the Chambre des Députés . In the parliamentary elections on June 7, 2009 , he was able to move into parliament again. At the end of 2012 Colombera left the ADR after disputes and has since sat as an independent member of parliament. In June 2013 he founded the PID party fir Integral Demokratie , with which he ran for the 2013 chamber election. However, the party could not get a seat in parliament, so Colombera left the Chamber of Deputies, and in 2017 he became mayor of the municipality of Vichten . In 2018, his party PID formed an alliance with the Pirate Party and they gained 2 seats in parliament. In 2018, medical cannabis was legalized in Luxembourg.

In 2008 and 2009 he published two "non-fiction books in the form of a novel" dealing with female and male role models.

Honors

In 2003 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg with the rank of knight. In 2004 he was awarded the Order of Merit of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg with the rank of officer. In 2014 he was awarded the Ordre Grand-Ducal de la Couronne de Chêne with the rank of officer.
