Jean Oleksiak (born March 16, 1935 in Villuis , Seine-et-Marne ) is a French football player .

Career

The offensive midfielder began his adult career in Bruay in northern France ; with the local amateur club Union Sportive Ouvrière he reached the Cup sixteenth finals in the 1954/55 season . From 1955 he played for eight years with AS Saint-Étienne in Division 1 (exception: Saint-Étienne spent the 1962/63 season in Division 2 , but rose immediately as a champion again in the end). Although he was only used in 115 first division games, in which he scored 16 goals; but he won a championship title with the Verts , was also victorious in the national cup final and was twice winner of the Trophée des Champions . He also wore the colors of Lille OSC for one season , which he also helped to the second division championship and promotion in 1963/64, as well as two amateur clubs.

Especially in Saint-Étienne, Jean Oleksiak was in a team with a large number of successful footballers, including a number of national players ; among them were Claude Abbes , Kees Rijvers , Yvon Goujon , René Ferrier , Robert Herbin , Rachid Mekhloufi , Eugène Njo-Léa , Aimé Jacquet and Jacques Foix . However, he never wore the Bleus dress himself . In the context of the European Cup competitions, he came to three international competitive appearances. He scored in the 1957/58 championship cup season the early opening goal in the second leg against the Glasgow Rangers , which could not prevent the elimination of the ASSE, and in 1962/63 he played again at this level, this time in the European Cup winners competition.
