Jean Pierre Picon

Jean Pierre Picon alias Johann Peter Pitzen (* 1926 in Leverkusen , † 2005 in Leverkusen) was a German painter, graphic artist and sculptor.

Picon was a student of Emil Nolde in Seebüll in 1943/44 . He is a co-founder of the Rhenish Group 59, which included Norbert Kricke , Willi Geiger , Lothar Streblow and Heinz Gruchot . Picon was also a member of the Esslingen Artists' Guild .

In 1975 Picon became the art representative at the University of Bonn . He had over 100 exhibitions at home and abroad and carried out many commissioned works for cities, institutions, churches and collectors. Picon has won numerous competitions as a painter, graphic artist and sculptor.
