Baliuag (also Baliwag ) is a municipality in the Philippine province of Bulacan .
The first elections in the country were held in the borough on May 6, 1899 during the American occupation. Due to the proximity to Metro Manila , many jobs in trade and banking have been created in Baliuag in recent years.
