Jeanno Gaussi

Jeanno Gaussi (* 1973 in Kabul ) is an Afghan - German video artist .

life and work

Gaussi grew up in Kabul, Delhi and Berlin. After studying graphic design , she participated in numerous artist-in-residence programs in various countries, where she not only worked on videos, but also on installations . She has been an artistic member of the Volksbühne Berlin since 2006 . She was co-founder of Artspace NewYorkRioTokyo eV and the gallery E4 * in Berlin.

Her film Three Notes won first prize at the 54th International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen . Gaussi was a participant in dOCUMENTA (13) in Kassel and in 2017 in Rohkunstbau .
