Jannis Kübler (born May 25, 1999 in Karlsruhe ) is a German football player . The central midfielder is currently under contract with FC Carl Zeiss Jena .

Career

In 2008 Kübler moved from the youth of the lower class FV Leopoldshafen to the youth of the Karlsruher SC . There he went through the youth teams up to U-19. Without a professional assignment, Kübler switched from the Karlsruhe youth to the youth department of FC Schalke 04 in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee of € 500,000 . There he was promoted to the squad of the second team in the summer of 2018 and took part in the summer training camp in Spain with the Bundesliga team. Nevertheless, he could not seriously recommend himself for the first team and was only used in the second team in the league. In January 2019, FC Carl Zeiss Jena signed Kübler on the recommendation of the new head coach Lukas Kwasniok , who knew Kübler from their times in Karlsruhe. In Jena he signed a contract valid until 2021. He made his professional debut in the 3rd division on January 26, 2019, the 21st matchday, in a 0-0 win against Preußen Münster .

In addition, Kübler was used in the German U-15 , U-16 and U-17 national team . With the latter, he took part in the U-17 European Championship in Azerbaijan in 2016 . He is currently part of the German U-19 national team .
