Jeavestone is a Finnish progressive rock band that was formed in 1999. The debut album Mind the Soup (2005) was initially only released in Finland, but after a few successful concerts in Germany it was also released there, in Austria and Switzerland.
Style and reception
The band describes their style as "Prog'n'Roll". In her music she processes influences from progressive rock bands such as Gentle Giant and King Crimson , but also resorts to rock from the 1970s. For example, Wolfgang Kabsch writes:
“The band mills their way (...) through the history of the prog from Yes to Van der Graf Generator , a little Pink Floyd and of course a little bit of the Beatles should never be missing. Often, the variety of the pieces is reminiscent of German bands from the mid-seventies like Eloy , Snowball or similar , especially in their sound . Jazz rock and folk rock parts are also processed and an incredible number of different ideas are processed in a very short time, which sometimes makes it difficult to follow. "
