Jeff T. Alu

Jeffrey Thomas Alu (born 1966 in Anaheim ) is an American musician , photographer , graphic artist and amateur astronomer .

Life

From 1984 to 1986 he studied composition and piano at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester (New York) . He deepened this education between 1989 and 1992 at Chapman University in Orange (California) and graduated with a bachelor's degree in music.

From February 1991 to April 1993 he worked as a research assistant at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena , California . Since 1993 he has been creating graphics and animations with his own company in Irvine (California) .

Between 1988 and 1991 he identified or co-discovered a total of 24 asteroids . In addition, he is, together with Eleanor Helin and Brian P. Roman , the discoverer of the periodic comets 117P / Helin-Roman-Alu and 132P / Helin-Roman-Alu .

The asteroid (4104) Alu was named after him.
