Jeff Christie (Luge Rider)

Jeffrey Christie (born February 2, 1983 in Vancouver , British Columbia ) is a Canadian luge rider .

Jeff Christie has been a luge since 1995. The student has been a member of the Canadian national team since 2000 and also competed in the Luge World Cup . In 2001 he entered Calgary at his first world championships, where he was 16th in the singles and eleventh with the Canadian team. At the Junior World Championships in 2002 he was fourth, in the overall World Cup of the 2001/02 season second in the Junior World Cup. At the 2003 Luge World Championships in Sigulda , he started for the second time at a World Championship. In the individual he was 19th this time, with the team eighth. The performance at the 2004 World Cup in Nagano was a little better . Here, as in his first World Cup participation, he was 16th, with the team he reached seventh place.

The 2005 World Championships brought another improvement . In Park City , he finished twelfth in the individual and sixth with the team. The 2006 Olympic Games he finished 14th in the individual competition. Several times he was able to place in the top ten in the single-seater World Cup, but in the overall World Cup he achieved the 13th place in the Luge World Cup 2006/07 as the best place . With the team he achieved multiple placements on the podium, the best placement was second place with Regan Lauscher and Chris Moffat and Mike Moffat in Calgary at home in December 2006. At the 2010 Olympic Games he was again 14th in the individual.
