Jeff Vermeulen (born October 7, 1988 in Zwolle ) is a former Dutch track and road cyclist .
Athletic career
Jeff Vermeulen was the 2004 Dutch track cycling champion in the junior class sprint and in 2005 in the junior class single pursuit. In the 2006 season he won the silver medal in the Madison together with Pim Ligthart at the Junior World Championships in Gent . In 2007 he was successful with Ligthart at the UIV Cup in Munich and he became national champion in derny. At the U23 European Championship in Alkmaar in 2008 he won the silver medal in Madison together with Ligthart .
In 2007, Vermeulen won the Omloop van de Hoekse Waard on the road. From August 2007 he drove for the Dutch Continental Team Löwik Meubelen and in 2011 he drove for the Cyclingteam de Rijke . In his first year there he won the Ronde van Zuid-Holland.
On August 7, 2013, it was announced that he had tested positive on a doping control. A second positive doping test followed on November 20, 2013, after which he was dismissed from his team Metec-TKH . He was first temporarily suspended by the Dutch Cycling Federation, but then acquitted.
In 2015, Vermeulen continued his cycling run with the Jo Piels cycling team . In the same year he won the Ronde van Overijssel , a stage and the team time trial of the Olympia's Tour and a stage from Paris-Arras . In 2016 he won the Ster van Zwolle and a stage of the Tour du Loir-et-Cher .
At the end of the 2018 season, Jeff Vermeulen ended his cycling career.
