Jegistorf (noble family)

The sex of Jegistorf was one of Jegenstorf coming ministerial family of the Zähringer .

The family named after the village of the same name appears in the sources for the first time in 1131 with Otto and Kuno as self-employed of the Counts of suckers. It is possible that they achieved social advancement after the death of Duke Berchtold V von Zähringen . In the second half of the 13th century there were family ties to the Counts of Buchegg and the Barons of Bremgarten and possibly to the Barons of Schwanden.

The Jegistorf were in Bern and Solothurn verburgrechtet . In the 14th century the Jegistorf died out.
