Nedžad Sinanović (born January 29, 1983 in Zavidovići , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a Bosnian basketball player . Sinanović, who is over 2.2 meters tall, was selected in the 2003 NBA draft and then played in Belgium before moving to Real Madrid in 2005. Here, however, he could not earn a permanent place in the rotation and was loaned to the Cologne 99ers in the BBL season 2007/08 . He also played on loan with Spanish second division clubs, which was repeated after moving to Unicaja Málaga in 2009. Sinanović, who also has Spanish citizenship, has been playing in the first Spanish division ACB for Blancos de Rueda from Valladolid since 2012 .

Career

Sinanović began his career with Čelik from Zenica in his home country. After he was selected in the 2003 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers, he moved to the Belgian first division for the Royal Basket Club from Pepinster , for which he was active the following two seasons. In the first season of 2003/04 they were eliminated as runner-up in the regular season in the play-off semi- finals of the national championship. In the following season you could not place yourself in the front field. In 2005 Sinanović was signed by Real Madrid after he could not recommend himself for a contract with the NBA again during the summer break . At Real, he had little play and could not play in the NBA Summer League in 2006. Real won the Spanish championship and the ULEB Cup 2006/07 with Sinanović in the squad in 2007 , while they lost the national cup final in the “Copa del Rey”. Sinanović himself, however, was mainly active for the second team in the third division LEB-2 this season.

In 2007 Sinanović was finally awarded to the German first division club Köln 99ers, who was trained by the Serbian coach Saša Obradović and Sinanović 'compatriot Drasko Prodanović . In early March 2008, however, Sinanović injured his hand and fell out of the rest of the season after an operation. Sinanović celebrated his comeback the following season in the second Spanish league Española de Baloncesto at CB Atapuerca near Burgos . The club, which had been promoted two years earlier, was able to qualify for the first time for the play-offs for promotion to the first division, in which, however, they were eliminated in the first round.

In 2009 Sinanović moved to Unicaja from Málaga . But even this club awarded him to the second division from Axarquía after a few games at the beginning of the season . While the club operating under Clínicas Rincón was placed in the bottom third of the table in each of the following two seasons, Sinanović was awarded the MVP of the respective game round on three match days of the 2009/10 season thanks to the highest effectiveness value of all players , which he already in the 2008/09 season once succeeded in the Burgos jersey. Also in the 2010/11 season he was once awarded as an MVP before returning to the Unicaja squad in the first division in February 2011. While Málaga had just barely reached the play-offs for the national championship in 2011, in which they were eliminated in the first round, they narrowly missed the finals in the 2011/12 season. Also in the highest European club competition ULEB Euroleague 2011/12 was for the club again in the intermediate round of the 16 best teams, in which one remained without any win against the national rivals Bizkaia Bilbao Basket and Sinanović 'former club Real Madrid. For the following season 2012/13 Sinanović moved to Málaga's league rivals Blancos de Rueda from Valladolid .
