Yegor Borissowitsch Michailow ( Russian Егор Борисович Михайлов ; born July 23, 1978 in Moscow , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who has been under contract with EHC Visp in the Swiss National League B since April 2014 . His father Boris was also a professional ice hockey player.
Career
Yegor Mikhailov began his career as a hockey player in the youth of SKA Saint Petersburg , for whose professional team he was active in the Russian Super League from 1994 to 1996 . He then played for a year for the Spokane Chiefs in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League before returning to Saint Petersburg for another season. This was followed by three years at HK CSKA Moscow , which he left before the 2001/02 season when he joined the reigning Russian champions HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk . In the summer of 2003, the attacker returned to Saint Petersburg, with whom he missed the playoffs twice in a row. Following the 2004/05 season, Mikhailov was signed by the reigning champions HK Dynamo Moscow , with whom he achieved the only title of his career in 2006, when he and his team competed in the final of the IIHF European Champions Cup against Kärpät Oulu from the Finnish SM -liiga prevailed. During the 2006/07 season, the winger moved to his ex-club HK ZSKA Moscow, which he left again at the end of the season. From 2007 to 2009 he played for Metallurg Novokuznetsk , first in the Superliga and in the 2008/09 season in the newly founded Continental Hockey League .
For the 2009/10 season Mikhailov was signed by HK CSKA Moscow . After a year and a half, he moved in January 2011 within the KHL to the city neighbor HK Spartak Moscow , for which he completed 55 KHL games by 2012. In May 2012 he received a contract with Amur Khabarovsk , which was however dissolved shortly before the start of the season. In 2013 he moved to Switzerland for HC Red Ice in the National League B. After a season there, he signed a contract with EHC Visp in April 2014.
