Elizabeth Petrovna Bagrjanzeva

Jelisaveta Petrovna Bagrjanzewa ( Russian Елизавета Петровна Багрянцева ; born August 27, 1929 in Usolye-Sibirskoye ; † January 24, 1996 ) was a Soviet athlete who specialized in discus throwing.

The 1.70 m tall and 76 kg heavy Bagrjanzewa started for Iskra Moscow . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , she won the silver medal in the discus throw with a width of 47.08 m. Nina Romaschkowa (51.42 m) and Nina Dumbadze (46.29 m) completed the Soviet triple triumph.
