Nina Dumbadze

Nina Jakowlewna Dumbadze ( Russian: Нина Яковлевна Думбадзе , English transcription Nina Dumbadze , Georgian ნინო დუმბაძე Nino Dumbadze ) (born January 23, 1919 in Odessa ; † April 14, 1983 in Tbilisi ) was a Soviet athlete of Georgian descent.

With a break of two months in 1952 by Nina Romaschkowa, Dumbadze held the world record in discus throwing from 1948 to 1960 . At the Olympic Games in Helsinki in 1952 , she won the bronze medal. In 1946 in Oslo and 1950 in Brussels , she was each European champion.
