Tsvetanka Christowa ( Bulgarian Цветанка Христова , English transcription Tsvetanka Khristova ; born March 14, 1962 in Kazanlak ; † November 14, 2008 ibid) was a Bulgarian discus thrower and former world champion.

She had her first major international success when she won gold at the European Athletics Championships in Athens in 1982 . Four years later, the silver medal followed at the 1986 European Championships in Stuttgart. The following year she set the current Bulgarian record on April 14, 1987 in her hometown of Kazanlak with 73.22 m.

She won a bronze medal each at the 1987 World Championships in Rome and at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul.

In 1991 she won gold at the World Championships in Tokyo and the following year she won silver at the Olympic Games in Barcelona . In 1993 she was banned from the IAAF for a doping offense . At the 1997 World Championships , she did not get beyond the preliminary round.

At the age of 42 she started at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, but did not get past the preliminary round.

In the last years of her life she worked as a trainer.

Zwetanka Christowa died on 14 November 2008 at the age of 46 years to cancer .
