Denia Caballero Ponce (born January 13, 1990 in Caibarién ) is a Cuban discus thrower .

In 2011 she won the Central American and Caribbean Athletics Championships, finished ninth at the World Championships in Daegu and won bronze at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara .

At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , she was eliminated in qualifying, and at the 2013 World Championships in Moscow , she was eighth.

In 2014 she won the Central American and Caribbean Games and in 2015 the Pan American Games in Toronto . She also won the gold medal at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing . She is the first Cuban world champion in the discus throw in history. She set her personal best of 70.65 m on June 20, 2015 in Bilbao . At the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , she won the bronze medal behind the Croatian defending champion Sandra Perković (69.21 m) and the French Mélina Robert-Michon (66.73 m) with a width of 65.34 m .

Denia Caballero is 1.75 m tall and has a competition weight of 70 kg.
