Jema is a city in the Bono East region in the West African state of Ghana . Jema has been the capital of the Kintampo South District since it was founded in 2004. Before that, Jema was part of the now divided Kintampo District .

In 2000 there were 5,377 people in Jema, in 2006 about 7,686 people. This makes Jema the only town in the Kintampo South District with a population of over 5000 and an urban character.

A health center is available in the city and in addition to the city's kindergartens, elementary schools and junior secondary schools , the only senior secondary school in the entire district has been opened here, which teaches around 545 students.
