The Jena Jubilee Singers are a choir of the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena .

The choir, founded in 1988, has dedicated itself to the traditional, sacred music of black Americans, i.e. the gospels , spirituals and jubilees. In addition, he sings modern church music, classical works and his own compositions, and goes on excursions to rock & pop.

The choir mainly performs in Thuringia , Saxony and Hesse , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein . So far , concerts abroad have been given in Austria , the Czech Republic and Italy . In 2005 the choir embarked on a fortnightly gospel tour in the United States .
