Jennifer Culp
Jennifer Culp is an American cellist.
Life
Culp received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the San Francisco Conservatory and the New England Conservatory of Music . Her teachers were Bonnie Hampton and Laurence Lesser . From 1986 to 1998 she was a member of the Dunsmuir Piano Quartet . From 1999 to 2005 she succeeded Joan Jeanrenaud as a member of the Kronos Quartet , with which she was named Musician of the Year in 2003 and received a Grammy for best chamber music performance.
She was also a member of the Empyrean Ensemble , the Philadelphia String Quartet , the San Francisco Opera Orchestra , the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and the Feinsmith Quartet and has performed with musicians such as Zakir Hussain , Dawn Upshaw , Tom Waits , Sándor Végh , Asha Bhosle , Justin Blasdale and Irina Schnittke up. Culp is Professor of Cello and Chamber Music at the Francisco Conservatory of Music .
