Jennifer Veiga

Jennifer Veiga (born October 10, 1962 in Long Beach , California ) is an American politician of the Democratic Party .

Life

After graduating from Irvine High School , Veiga studied Political Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder . She then studied law at the National Law Center at George Washington University in Washington, DC . After graduating, Veiga worked as a Denver attorney with Hall & Evans, LLC law firm .

Veiga was an MP in the Colorado House of Representatives from 1996 to 2003 . She then served in the Colorado Senate from 2003 to May 15, 2009 . Veiga gave up her office as Senator in Colorado because the mother of her life partner Bronwyn Russell was sick in Australia . Veiga's Senate seat was refilled by her party colleague Pat Steadman .
