Jens Böcker

Jens Böcker (born February 23, 1965 in Hildesheim ) is a German economist specializing in marketing and a university lecturer . He has been a professor at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences since 2000 . Böcker also works as a management consultant, organizer, moderator, speaker and author.

Life

Böcker studied business administration with a focus on marketing and business informatics at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen from 1987 to 1991 . From 1991 to 1994 he worked as a research assistant at Hans Knoblich 's chair for marketing and trade . In 1994 he received his doctorate on the subject of “Marketing for Performance Systems”.

From 1994 to 1996, as a consultant for strategy and marketing at Simon, Kucher & Partners in Bonn, he primarily advised clients in the IT and telecommunications markets. He then worked for three years in key account management at RWE Telliance (later Mannesmann o.tel.o ) in Essen and Cologne . There he was responsible for setting up and managing the "Service Provider" sales channel.

Böcker has been teaching marketing at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences since 2000 . His research focus is on the possible uses of innovative technologies in marketing and sales. In 2016 he was involved in the creation of the Master’s degree in Marketing (M.Sc.) and is still the course director today.

Böcker holds several advisory board mandates, including a. Since 2001 he has been a scientific advisor at the management and strategy consultancy Böcker Ziemen in Bonn. He is also the spokesman for the advisory board of the Economics Department at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, as well as the organizer and moderator of the Telecommunications Executive Circle (TEC) and the Bonn Management Forum (BMF).
