Jens Cotta

Jens Cotta (born November 9, 1972 in Bad Frankenhausen ) is a German politician ( AfD ) and has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2019 .

Life

Cotta passed his Abitur at the Roßleben monastery school in 1991 and then did his military service with Panzerbataillon 4/383 in Bad Frankenhausen. From 1992 he did an apprenticeship as a banker at Volksbank Bad Frankenhausen, where he was also employed afterwards. He is married and has a grown daughter.

Cotta has been a member of the AfD since 2016. In 2018 he became district spokesman in the Kyffhäuserkreis and in 2019 parliamentary group chairman of the AfD in the district assembly of the Kyffhäuserkreis.

In the state elections in Thuringia in 2019 , he was directly elected to the state parliament of Thuringia with 29.2% of the votes in the constituency Kyffhäuserkreis II . In addition, he ran at number 8 on the state list of his party. In the state parliament, he was elected deputy chairman of the AfD parliamentary group.
